Spiced Buttermilk Protein Waffles

These classic buttermilk waffles are easy to make and come out fluffy and crisp each and every time. It’s a must-have recipe for turning an ordinary morning into something extra-special and yummy!

 

Recipe - Makes 2 waffles
Ingredients
160g oats (or regular flour)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger 
Pinch of nutmeg & salt
240ml soya milk
15g Musclemary Vanilla Dream protein powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
Method
Mix the lemon juice into the milk (it will curdle & makes buttermilk) and set aside for 10 minutes.
Blend the oats to a fine flour then add to a large bowl. Mix in the spices, protein, salt & baking powder.
Pour in the buttermilk & whisk until you have a lump free batter. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes to soak up the liquid & thicken.
Preheat your waffle machine (or oven 180ºc). Pour the batter into the machine until it covers the base. Cook for 6-7 minutes. If using a waffle mould in the oven cook for 10 minutes.
Serve with fresh fruit, dairy-free yoghurt & maple syrup.
